- January 6: Paradura Del Nino (Parade of the Children) This festival is about children getting gifts which they believe are from Los Tres Reyes Magos.
- February: Mardi Gras a festival held prior to the catholic period of Lent and sees four days of celebration.
- March: Los Tambores de Barlovento it is held to mark the official start of the wet season.
- April: Holy Week begins on Palm Sunday and end the next week on Easter Sunday.
- May 3: Velorio de la Cruz de Mayo (The Cross of May) locals gather to pay respect to crosses which have been adorned and people stand around them to sing and pray.
- June 24: Feast of John the Babtist, one of Venezuela's most significant events. People take the street with dancing as African drums are pounded and mantras are chanted. This event lasts all day.
- July: Virgen of El Carmen Day, Catholic masses, street processions, and a variety of colourful celebrations.
